I put out the call, and the TTM tribe answered! I’m thrilled to share my first guest post love letter for #Lovember. I hope you enjoy this beautiful letter from an obviously incredible aunt to her darling nephews and nieces. So often we forget the blessing that is the depth of feeling and love, which comes from our siblings, aunts, uncles, and extend family. Thank you, Tiffany, for reminding us.I have been blessed beyond belief to become an aunt. It was 7 short years ago when my Samantha was born and I was equally blessed when Wyatt, Rory, and Luke were born. As the time nears for my fourth nephew to arrive (and another niece or nephew in March), I realize what a special gift it is.
Samantha, your smile is as bright as the sun. You are so smart and beautiful.
Wyatt, you have such a special place in my heart. You were the best surprise I ever got!
Rory, you always know how you want things to be and have such a fantastic personality.
Luke, I can’t believe how independent you are! You definitely have your dad’s sense of humor.
To the two I don’t know yet, and any others that come along the way, you already make my heart so happy and I can’t wait to meet you.
I love you more than all the stars in the sky!
I love you more than all the fish in the sea!
I love you more than you can possibly imagine.
Here’s just a few reasons why I feel this way:
Unconditional love. These little people, who God has given to me, love me. No matter what. My parents love me that way, and I have a pretty good idea that my siblings do as well, but I do feel as if it’s a bit different. What have I done to deserve their love? I’ve worked at my relationship with my siblings and we are much closer than we’ve ever been, but I’ve known my nieces and nephews for only a short while and they love me unconditionally. I hope to do something along the way to deserve it!
Time spent together is always the highlight of my day/week/month/year. The anticipation I feel when I know that I’m going to be lucky enough to spend time with them is incredible. Some I get to see more often than others, but I hope I never lose that feeling.
Mutual affection. The look on their faces when they see me… it’s as if I’m their favorite person in the world and I made their day just by walking in the room. I hope the feeling reflects in my eyes as well.
They are simply the best things that have ever happened to me.
I have the best job that I could possibly imagine having. I have parents who love me and siblings who accept me fully for who I am. Their spouses are great blessings to me. I have the perfect dog and the best friends. I have been given lots of amazing gifts from God, but I learned through my nieces and nephews that I can love someone fully, but in completely different ways. Each has their own talents and personalities, and each needs completely different things. I do not have the blessing of being a mother, but I do feel like I make a huge impact in the lives of my favorite people and if you are lucky enough to be an aunt (or an uncle), and you feel the same way I do, please make sure you tell your nieces and nephews how much you love them every chance you get. #Lovember
